Personal information on Internet

In my opinion giving personal information on websites is very dangerous, the risk of fraud and identity is higher by each day. Hundreds of billions of dollars are lost every year by cyberattacks, and its something that affects us all. 
Facebook is a website where it is very normal for everyone to post their personal life, uplode pictures their vacations, families, relationships, birthdays, etc., but we are not realizing what this could cause.
Everyone can see our information which we post, they can know about our life, where we live, what we do, in which school we go in, or even including information about our family and friends. We need to be careful with what we post on internet. I guess posting when is your birthday, and pictures with friends and family are okey, but sharing where you live, where you study, or your phone number, I find it a bit risky.
My favorite social media is Instagram. I starting using it years ago, but since last year I am using it everyday and I have become used to it. I find this social media entertaining, everyone who has it can post pictures, and comment on them, chat with your friends, etc. This is similar to Facebook, although with this social media people have the option to make private their profile, which is very good to make it a bit more saffer, and not letting anyone see your profile with your pictures and information.   
I dont like to share information about me thats is about my family. or where do I live, even my phone number I dont like to share on Internet. 
I have not have many problems with personal information on internet but sometimes I get friend request by people I have never seen, or that are from different country, so I prefer not accepting strangers in my profiles.
