POST 10 >> ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES

I feel that is very good to learn English. I think that English is one of the languages everyone or almost everyone should know. It is one of the languages that is useful to know so that you are able to talk to people in other countries. So, for me learning English in school, at home, or at the university is very necessary.

The blogs are very useful, in my case I know English since I was a little girl because I used to speak with my mom in English, which I am very grateful because it has helped me a lot to not find it difficult know, but even though I know English well, sometimes I forget the spelling of some words, so the blogs has helped me practice and even learn new words I have never ever used in a sentence.

I don’t speak English anymore at home how I used to do when I has younger, so I think that I have lost a little bit of my practice, like speaking fluently and my spelling. I try to practice my English talking to some friends I have that are from abroad and that don’t speak Spanish, so that helps a lot, and also, I am very good in watching series and movies in English, I don’t like to see them in Spanish and I also try to see them without subtitles, so that I get to practice more my English.  

I love to speak English and sometimes I even practice teaching my boyfriend, who knows English although he doesn’t speak it much and many times has spelling mistakes, so helping him helps me as well. As I said, I don’t speak much English now a days like I used to do before, but I will always do something to keep practicing, so I don’t get to forget it because I really feel is very important and useful to know this language.

POST 9 >> CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

There are many subjects in my career that I would change. I feel that the studies in Chile are too many years and it can easily be done in less years. There are many subjects that they teach us that are not so necessary or that is the same thing that they teach us in other subject.

The workload in this career is amazingly huge, I don’t have time for me or anything else I want to do, apart from my university. I don’t go to the gym anymore, I sleep much less than before (sometimes I don’t sleep at all), I see my boyfriend less than before, I don’t have time to cook, so I eat whatever I find at home or I just buy food outside, I don’t play much the guitar anymore or even paint (things that I used to do more when I was in school). This career is hard, and it takes a lot of time in someone’s life, also it makes you spend a lot of money for materials, but even with all the things that I have mentioned before, I like this career and that is the important thing.

In my point of view, the infrastructure of my university is very bad, all the money we pay for tuition, I honestly don’t know where it goes. The girl’s bathroom doesn’t have doors that close properly, or it doesn’t have toilet paper all the time, there is no heater for winter, and even some of the tables and chairs are broken.

The technology is not so bad, we have good Wi-Fi, although in some places of the university it doesn’t work so well, and maybe we need some new and faster computers.

Even though I think that my career has subjects that are not necessary, I think that my teachers are pretty good, although sometimes I would change a little bit the teaching methods they have. Some subjects like in the workshop the teachers don’t teach some computer programs which we really need to learn, and because of that we must learn alone how they work.

POST 8 >> SUMMER PLANS

I feel that this summer is going to be amazing, and I can´t wait for those days to come. I have been waiting for months now to travel and next month I am finally doing it. I am going to Brazil and India, those are my plans for the summer, and I can’t wait for it to start. My trip to Brazil will start on 20th January, one day after I finish my university, and I am very excited to go because I am going with my boyfriend. I am travelling to Brazil for 10 days and then I’ll come back to Santiago to then travel to India for a month and meet my sister who is living over there and well, in general, go and meet all my family that lives there, like my cousins, aunts, uncles and my grandmother.

I haven’t gone to India for 8 years now and this time I am traveling alone, it is a two-day flight and I just hope that I don’t get bored till I reach there.

Just today I was talking to my sister about what we could do when I reach there, we were talking about travelling to many other cities to visit my family, go to different beaches, go out to parties, go shopping, to the theater, and other more things. I think that is going to be an amazing summer, with a lot of activities every day, and I haven’t seen my sister for a year now, so it is going to be quite wonderful.

In Brazil my boyfriend and I are planning to visit many beaches. We are starting in Sao Paolo and from there we will go to Rio de Janeiro to then go to Ilha Grande, which is a beautiful and touristic Island that has many beautiful beaches in which we are planning to visit the days I’ll be there. After I leave Brazil, my boyfriend is going to stay there for other two weeks to meet his friends that are travelling to Brazil as well.

This summer, I am honestly not planning to work or study because I am going to have only one month and a half of vacations, and I have so many things planned that I just want to do that and relax, which I think I deserve it because it has been a long year with a lot to do.

"MY FAVORITE BOOK"

When I was in school I used to read more books than what I do now, maybe it is because I had more time to do things I like doing than the time I have now being at the University. I haven't read many books in my life, but some of the books I have read are Harry Potter, The Fault in our stars, The Notebook, and Pretty Little Liars. I dont know which is my favorite author, although I like the writting of Sara Shepard a lot, who writes the series of Pretty Little Liars, and I also like J. K. Rowling's writting, who writes Harry Potter.
I like to read books about suspension, and drama, I feel that they are more interesting than other genres, and that kind of genre makes me keep reading it till I finally finish the book, not even realizing how fast I have read it. Both this series, Pretty Little Liars like Harry Potter have a theme that makes people keep reading this books and learn something from them.
I can say that my favorite books are the once of Harry Potter and Pretty Little Liars, both are very good books, which makes them very popular nowadays.
As I said, I have not read books from a long time, so I honestly don't remember which was the last book I read, but the once I mentioned before are really good and I really recommend it if someone hasn't read it yet.

For me books are better than movies. Books can let you imagine the setting or events happening in the story. They are also more detailed than movies because movies sometimes leave out some important details. Other thing that I don't like much about movies is that they tend to last about two hours and books take their time and last longer, which I feel is better so that you can take your time with the book you like.

POST 6 >> POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

This is something I have not thought about it enough, so I don't know much what to say, I have got some ideas though of what I want to study after I finish Architecture. Well I have three more years to finish my studies, and I am thinking of going abroad for my postgraduate studies, maybe England, or Spain, or maybe wherever I have got the opportunity in going. I have thought of Spain because is beautiful, I have friends over there studying Architecture that have told me that is a life experience and that everyone should try in going at least once. You can get more knowledge in what is Architecture, a new perspective, the different culture and traditions of constructions. I even have family over there, which makes it a lot more easier for me to live there. I have also thought of England because my cousin has also studied Architecture like me, and now he is doing a one year course in England, which I find it amazing as well, just to have an idea of what is like to be outside of Chile. 

As I said, I am not so clear yet of what I want to study for my postgraduate studies, but I know that is going to be something related to Architecture, maybe interior designing, or graphic design, or maybe something related with computer programs we use in Architecture. I would also like to take a course in MBA, which it means Masters in Bussiness Administration, so that I can have a more global idea and vision of what is business, which I think that can help me in the future when I start working. 

I love mathematics and designing, so those are two of the courses I would definitely do. Other things I like and would take a course in is Construction and Structure of buildings, I find it really interesting and would love to learn more about what I already know. I think I would like to have a part-time course, because if I study abroad I would like to have also time for myself to get to know the city and be able to travel alot in my surroundings. 

MY FUTURE JOB

MY FUTURE JOB

Well, I haven't thought yet what kind of job I would like to have, but it is definitely something related to Architecture, well it is the idea because I am studying this. I imagine myself with a job working in an office with a lot of people and getting to meet new people every day. I guess I would like to have the experience of working outdoors and indoors, although I think I would finally prefer to work outdoors. 

I love to travel, and I have the idea to keep doing it when I finish my studies and start working. I hope to get a job where I need to travel and to get the chance to meet new places. It's one of the reasons I decided to study Architecture. Or maybe have a job where I have the flexibility to travel at least once a year to a place far away for vacations. People with jobs nowadays have only two weeks of vacations per year, which I feel is very little in comparison with my three months vacations I still have, so I hope to get a job where I get to travel more often and hopefully more than just 2 weeks.

About the salary I just hope is enough for me and the family I plan to have in the future, and of course to be able to travel now and then, also I would like to have a job where they don't explode me with work 7/24 to make a living. 

I am still not in my major although I have thought of doing it abroad, like in Spain, I even have family over there so it won't be so hard living there I guess. I want to do something related to construction and sustainable architecture because I love designing and want to be able to do it with materials that will stay in time perfectly. 

My plan is to work abroad, many England or Germany, just to get the chance to learn more than what is in Chile.  

FREE THEMED TOPIC "FOOD"

This I think will be one of my favorite topics, because this is one thing that I love to do and would do it all day. I have many favorite food like, pizza, vegeterian burgers, spaghetti, an Indian dish which is called "palak paneer" which is amazing, and "fricase" which I tryed it few months ago and it was very tasty. Fricasé  is a dish which contains many fried vegetables which is good because I am a vegetarian. Some of this vegetables are potatoes, onions, peppers, eggs, fried bread, little of milk, and if you want you can add sausage as well. This is an amazing dish, you should try it if you havent. 

I like cooking, but I only do it when I have time, which is hard when you study Architecture. Sometimes I cook when I am bored, or when I want to eat something different than what I eat everyday, or even when I need to clear my mind. It helps me relax. 

At university I usually eat a sandwhich that I buy near my university, or I bring my lunch from my house, which is usually Indian food. 

And well my favorite restaurants are the once with Indian food here in Santiago, which are amazing and I really recommend it if you have not gone to anyone yet. Plus, this retaurants have many vegeterian dishes which is hard for me to find in other restaurants, baceuse they only have salads.
